12 years old and in kennels. Let’s get her a sofa instead.
Daisy
She is 12 years old and we don’t want to see a 12 year old dog in kennels!!
Her story is sad, slightly strange, just stay with us….
Daisy was found as a stray, taken in by Team Tonew, they told us about her. Dogs that are taken in as stray have a “stay” in the kennels to allow the owners to come forward and claim their dogs. Otherwise they go on to a rescue or worst case scenario which is what happens in a lot of the pounds, are PTS. Side note, we are eternally thankful for Team Tonew for being a kennel that will take in the stray dogs and then go on to work with us as a rescue to find them homes. Daisy was chipped. Her owners were contacted. Her owners didn’t collect her?? We are confused too. Why?!
Anyway, here is what we know about our sweet old lady.
She’s not an old lady!!!!! Daisy will walk for miles! She has so much energy and loves to explore. Kennels is clearly new to her and she is really anxious there so we’re not seeing the true Daisy in this environment. The times before today that we filmed are hard to see because she’s a shaky, scared and stressed girl. Today we saw a bit more trust and a bit more of Daisy when she’s comfortable and familiar with people. We’re so honoured to have been able to earn that from her
Rescuing dogs as strays and working with them in a kennel environment means rescues can only tell you so much about a dog. We would love a foster/foster with a view to adopt home for our little lady.
Daisy’s current foster wishlist:
to be the only dog (purely because she isn’t dog tested - we passed another dog and cows without issue today)
adult only home (so it’s calmer)
no small furries (because of the terrier mix)
happy for longer walks despite her age
calm, patient, understanding, giving her time to adjust at her pace.
has chicken on offer.
Please send us a message/email if you’d like to chat about Daisy.
