What is Kenneth like?

Kenneth is our newest friend! He is a beautiful young Whippet-type boy with wonderfully expressive ears and a gentle heart.

He was found as a UK stray, severely underweight. Although he was microchipped, the registered contact details were no longer up to date, leaving Ken without anybody to take him home and so he entered kennels. 

We may never know his full story or what happened before he was found. We wish he could tell us. What we do know is that we will do everything we can to help him find the safe and happy future he deserves.

Kenneth’s ideal home

Kenneth needs a patient, reassuring family who understands that he may be nervous when initially meeting them.

He should not be rushed into interaction. Given a little time, kindness and the chance to approach at his own pace, he forms affectionate bonds and loves being close to his people.

Kenneth could live with another suitable dog and may benefit from the companionship and confidence of a settled canine pal. He could also live with older, dog-savvy children who understand his sensitive nature and can reliably follow boundaries such as keeping doors and gates closed.

His new home will need a secure garden with appropriate fencing. 

Ken would suit a calm family who enjoys walks, playtime and gentle, positive training. Most importantly, he needs people who can offer him consistency, reassurance and the comfort of knowing that he is finally safe.

Could you give Kenneth somewhere safe to land?

Kenneth has already come a long way.

The once frightened stray has begun to discover that human hands can offer treats, comfort and affection and that people can be trusted.

But kennel life continues to be incredibly difficult for him. Kenneth cannot fully flourish while living in an environment such as kennels.

He needs a home where he can stretch his legs, curl up beside somebody he trusts and finally feel safe enough to exhale.

All potential adopters will complete our application process, including an initial telephone conversation and a home check. An adoption donation will apply and full rescue backup will be provided.
