Meet Oreo

Sweet by name and even sweeter by nature, Oreo is a happy, affectionate puppy whose favourite thing in the world is cuddling his people.

He may have finally grown into his ears, but his legs appear to be growing at twice the speed of everything else. This means we currently have a slight Bambi impersonation happening... although Oreo believes his longer legs simply make it easier to pat you whenever the cuddle service has stopped prematurely.

As for those ears? They still have a mind of their own. Sometimes they are ears, sometimes they are a wig and sometimes they appear to be practicing the early stages of selective hearing!

Behind the gangly legs and comedy ears is the most loving little boy, patiently waiting for a family who will adore him as much as he will adore them.

Oreos story

Oreo was found alone beside a busy road. Tragically, his sibling did not survive.

It was a heartbreaking beginning for such a young puppy, but Oreo is now safe and surrounded by people and animals who love him. Despite everything, he remains a joyful, trusting and affectionate little boy.

His past is part of his story, but it does not define the happy puppy he is today.

What is Oreo like?

Oreo is a sociable boy who loves being close to his humans. Cuddles are his absolute favourite and, if you stop before he is ready, you can expect a gentle paw to remind you that your work is not yet complete.

He is friendly with lots of dogs and is also happily living around cats. He does like to play with them so if he was to live with a cat they would need to be dog savvy!

We expect Oreo to reach approximately 18–20kg when fully grown. He is likely to be taller with a slim, slender build, once he has worked out exactly what to do with all those legs.

Like every young puppy, Oreo is still developing and learning. His future family will need to continue his training, socialisation and introduction to everyday life with patience, consistency and kindness.

Oreo’s ideal home

Oreo needs a loving, committed family who understands everything involved in raising a puppy and will be there to guide him through adolescence and into adulthood.

He could potentially live with another suitable dog or be the only dog in his new home, provided his family can give him the companionship, play, enrichment and interaction he needs.

Because Oreo is already comfortable around cats, he could potentially share his home with a suitable dog-savvy cat. Introductions would need to be handled carefully and his family should understand that positive relationships still require time, supervision and appropriate boundaries.

Most importantly, Oreo needs a family who will make him part of their everyday life. He is a people-loving puppy with an enormous amount of affection to give and deserves a home where he will always feel safe, included and loved.
