Meet Peaches

Peaches is a magnificent 2.5 year old Central Asian Shepherd who has come into our care needing a lifeline.

At 54kg, she is a big, powerful and truly beautiful girl. But behind her size is a dog who has been hurt by humans and has already experienced far too much in her short life.

Before we begin searching for her forever home, we first need to help mend a broken heart.

Peaches is still adjusting to kennel life and getting to know us. We are taking everything at her pace, allowing her to build relationships without pressure and showing her through patience and consistency that the people around her now are here to keep her safe.

Getting to know Peaches

Because Peaches is still settling, we are not going to define her too quickly. The dog we see while she is adjusting to kennels may be very different from the girl she becomes once she feels safe and secure.

What we can tell you is that Peaches loves getting out for her walks. These give her a welcome break from the kennel environment and provide valuable opportunities for us to spend time together, create positive experiences and strengthen our bond.

She is a physically strong girl and there is certainly plenty of her to love. We are continuing to learn about her confidence, handling and individual needs.

Although it is still very early days, Peaches has already begun making new human friends. In fact, she instantly loved our Amy at first sight  That first connection means more than we can explain. It has given us a glimpse of the girl beneath everything she has experienced: a dog who can form loving relationships and place her trust in people, provided she is given the time and freedom to do so for herself.

Taking things slowly

Right now, we cannot tell you exactly what Peaches will need from her future home.

We need time to understand her personality, confidence, boundaries and what kind of environment will allow her to thrive. We will also continue assessing her carefully before making any decisions about the people or animals she could live with.

We will never rush a dog into a home simply because we want to see them adopted. Our responsibility is to understand Peaches properly and, when she is ready, find the home that is genuinely right for her.

For now, our only job is to keep showing up.

We will walk beside her, respect her boundaries and celebrate every small step.

Why The Wild Kind is here

The Wild Kind was created to offer a lifeline to at-risk dogs here in the UK. Dogs at risk of entering the pound system, dogs facing uncertain futures and dogs who desperately need somebody to give them a chance.

Dogs like Peaches.

While we continue fundraising to build Project Home, the wonderful team at the kennels are working alongside us to make this possible. Their support means Peaches is safe and that we have the time to get to know her properly.

We are incredibly grateful to them for helping us be there for the dogs who need us most

As we get to know her, we will share more about her personality, her progress and the kind of home she may need in the future.
