Meet Peaches
Peaches (or Peachy Pie/Princess Peach as she is affectionately known around here) is a beautiful Central Asian Shepherd with a huge personality to match her rather impressive size.
At 2.5 years old and 54kg, she is a whole lot of dog. She is smart, sassy, loving, funny and very good at making sure you know exactly what she thinks of snack preferences, or whether you’re entertaining enough for her.
Peaches came into our care after being surrendered as a UK rescue due to a change in circumstances. She has now spent around two months in kennels where we have taken the time to really get to know her.
Peaches is strong on the lead which probably won’t come as a huge surprise given her size. She needs someone physically capable of handling her and more importantly, someone who understands that Peaches needs calm, consistent boundaries.
Before coming into rescue, Peaches had been around other dogs and had sleepovers with them without issue. At kennels she happily joins in with the resident welcome committee when someone arrives usually with plenty of barking but during her time with us we have seen no aggression towards other dogs.
Peach has been hurt by people in the past. Despite that, she has been absolutely fine with almost everyone she has met and has made some lovely relationships with people.
However, Peaches is a very large, powerful guardian breed, and for that reason we want her future family to take the time to build a relationship with her before taking her home. Any potential adopter should expect to visit Peaches a couple of times so that everyone (mainly Peach) is comfortable.
Peaches previously lived on a farm with lots of land. If we could wave a magic wand, we would absolutely love to find her that sort of environment again. She doesn’t need a farm, but a home with lots of adventure is a must!
Peachy isn’t going to be the right dog for everybody. But she doesn’t need everybody. She needs her person. Someone who will appreciate the sass, laugh at the character, respect the dog in front of them and give this beautiful big girl the security and consistency she deserves.
After two months in kennels, Peachy Pie is more than ready to swap kennel doors for a front door of her own.
She’s smart, sassy and beautiful. She’s approximately the size of a small horse…. And so ready for her new chapter
