Meet Zelda
Zelda is a happy little bean with a constantly wagging tail, a wonderfully big personality and an enormous amount of affection to give.
She was found chained at an abandoned factory that had become a dumping ground for unwanted dogs. She was weak, frightened and facing an uncertain future.
Seeing the happy, content and bouncy girl she has become since being rescued is incredibly special. Zelda has embraced her new life with both paws and seems determined to enjoy every moment of kindness she is offered.
Now, she needs a foster family to help her take the next step.
What is Zelda like?
Zelda absolutely loves people. Cuddles, affection and being involved in whatever the humans are doing are among her favourite things.
She is sweet, cheerful and full of character. Her tail rarely stops wagging, and she has a lovely enthusiasm for life that is impossible not to smile at.
Zelda is also very inquisitive. If she is too small to see what is happening over the fence, she is more than happy for a human to pick her up so she can have a proper nosey!
Although she gets along with other dogs, Zelda can be a little bossy and prefers having her people and her space to herself. For that reason, we believe she would settle best as the only dog in her foster home.
Why Zelda needs a foster home
A foster home would give Zelda the time and space to settle away from a rescue environment, allowing us to understand more about her needs and how she responds to everyday home life.
It would help us learn about her routines, confidence and behaviour in a home so that, when the time comes, we can make the best possible match for her future.
Zelda is ideally looking for either a foster home or a foster-with-a-view-to-adopt arrangement. A foster-with-a-view-to-adopt placement would allow her family and Zelda to get to know one another properly before deciding whether they are the right lifelong match.
She does not need somebody to have all the answers. She needs a patient, kind person willing to give her a safe place to land while we support her together.
Zelda’s ideal foster home
Her foster family will need to give her time to adjust, maintain consistent routines and help her learn about life inside a home. She needs people who will enjoy her affectionate, happy nature while also allowing us to assess her carefully and honestly.
Most importantly, Zelda needs to feel safe, included and loved.
The Wild Kind will provide ongoing support throughout the placement. Her veterinary care will be covered, and the food and equipment she needs can be provided.
Could you be Zelda’s stepping stone to forever?
Zelda has already gone from being chained and frightened to a joyful little girl whose tail rarely stops wagging.
What she needs now is the opportunity to experience life in a real home, somewhere she can settle, feel secure and show us everything that makes her Zelda.
Fostering may only be one part of her journey, but to Zelda, it could mean everything.
All potential foster carers will complete our application and home-check process and receive ongoing support from The Wild Kind.
If you cannot foster, please share her profile. Zelda has been overlooked for long enough — let’s help our little princess find the person who will finally see her. 🩷🧡🐾
